“Having come to painting late in life, I began painting from photographic models, heavily influenced by Impressionism and particularly Monet. Later on, I freed myself from any real models by painting semi-figuratively, evoking atmospheres evoking nature, plants, aquatic environments, and the earth. Then, little by little, I began to trace a more personal path towards abstraction. I seek to create shapes and movements with a harmony of colors where blues are often present. I work in oils and with a palette knife, without academicism or convention, without figurative constraints. I try to transcribe emotions and atmospheres. For me, abstraction is a pure expression of emotions.”
